Xinyi Yuan
About
Xinyi Yuan is a multifaceted artist, jeweller, designer, and 3D modeler, currently pursuing her MA in Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art in London, UK. She holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design in New York, USA.
Xinyi’s work delves into the essence of human emotions and fleeting moments, transforming them into tangible, evocative forms. She finds inspiration in the natural world, exploring the interplay between animals, plants, microorganisms, and human society, as well as rare entities. Her recent work investigates how early memories shape behaviors and choices.
In her creative process, Xinyi uses metal as the “bones” of her pieces, ensuring structural integrity. She then adds materials that enrich the narrative with color, texture, and story. This innovative approach, combining design and physical experimentation, results in works where metal forms the core and other materials convey the conceptual “flesh and skin.”
