About
Mengna Wu (Parina) is a fashion and textile designer and mixed media artist whose work is inspired by the natural world and rich cultural traditions. She combines intricate textures, colors, and patterns through digital and handmade techniques to create visually striking work with deep storytelling.
During her time at the Royal College of Art, Mengna continued to explore the realms of textiles and sculpture. Her work not only demonstrates the deep connections between art, nature, and culture but also invites the viewer to re-examine and re-appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world from a new perspective.
“Surreal Soul Retrospective” is an art project that explores the mysterious connection between the body and the soul. It is inspired by the surreal experiences of childhood, when the soul seems to have wandered out of the physical realm and into a space filled with starlight and darkness. Through a variety of artistic expressions, the project captures the world as seen by the soul on its journey and its return to the body, aiming to show the deep bond and emotional connection between the soul and the body. This exploration embodies the uniqueness and vitality of the world of the soul.
