About

Jin Fang is an artist from China. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2020 and currently graduating from Royal College of Arts in Painting MA program.

Jin’s work is inspired by her experiences and those of her father. From these experiences, she is concerned with the reality of the wider society in which she lives and responds individually with her works. The transformation of emotions from the inner mind to the outer environment, combined with a rich sense of self-awareness and perception. She is interested in the freedom, diversity, and mobility that come with an intentionally restrictive social system. Jin explores the idea of the microcosmic inner spirit and power of the individual that challenges traditional macro, fixed structures, and social norms.
