About

Ruyi Yu is a textile designer specializing in printed textiles and mixed media. Her work draws on social phenomena and human perception, exploring the texture, structure, and color of textiles while integrating them with light. She aims to transform the atmosphere of spaces through textile decorations and furniture, enhancing interaction between people and their environments, and improving people’s quality of life.

By exploring the phenomenon of some people in modern society tending to seek supernatural spiritual support when feeling confused or anxious, and the psychological reasons behind this, her project “Fortunately” investigates metaphysical healing elements and soothing colors from different cultures. Using techniques such as printing, modular inserts, devoré, and embroidery in textile design, and integrating with light, she creates works with rich textures and multiple dimensions. Aiming to help people relax and regain self-energy.

Her works include decorative fabrics and lighting fixtures, designed to foster diverse interactions between textiles, living spaces, and individuals.
