Jingwen Fan
About
Jingwen Fan, a textile artist spacialising in mixed media and aiming to investigate light and shadow and the blurring of boundaries.
In the projects she focus on the transformation of the boundaries of light and shadow, especially how to create blurred spatial boundaries through the overlapping of transparent materials and light and shadow effects. The ‘Feelting boundary’ is the boundary between light and shadow, between the imaginary and the real. This boundary is not fixed, but keeps changing with the change of light source and the movement of entity. The project aims to explore the blurring of boundaries through the overlapping of transparent acrylic and the interaction of light and shadow, which in turn triggers deeper thoughts about nature and time. And is not only a display of visual effects, but also a philosophical inquiry, trying to capture the balance between the moment and eternity in the dynamic changes of light and shadow, and exploring the relationship between man and nature, man and time.
