Lisa O’Sullivan

Fashion (MA)

About

Lisa is a multidisciplinary artist focused on community, collaboration, and identity within the UK’s DIY punk scene. Previously trained in bespoke tailoring and traditional fashion practises, she spent her time at the RCA engaging with self-reflective experiments and alternative story-telling mediums.

She investigates the relationship between garments and her community, the functions they provide, and the stories they hold. Sharing ephemeral glimpses of her chosen family through a rugged lens – stills from within the chaos.

Presenting individuals as part of a whole body through both artefact and collective identity. She explores both the intrinsic value of seasoned clothing, irreplicable and storied, and the visual signifiers of belonging, acting as an acknowledgement of authenticity, love, and care.
