About

Sean Davidson

b.2000, Glasgow, Scotland

Working with both figuration and abstraction, Sean uses drawing and charcoal line as a counter to paint. His works are often unplanned and emerge through a process of destroying and rebuilding. With the figure as subject, he will explore the relationship between its inherent and abstracted qualities, encouraging a dialogue between charcoal and paint. He may produce a series of paintings before the point of arrival.

Sean was selected as a winner of the Freeland’s Painting Prize Award (2023) and was Nominated for the New Blood Art Prize (2023), and the winner of the Emerging Scottish Artist Award of the Fleming Wyfold Art Foundation (2023).
