Yayun Xiao
About
I am Yayun Xiao, I was born on July 2, 2001 in a small city in Guangdong Province, China. I am a very fanciful girl, and since I was a child, I have loved watching movies and novels, and I like to draw the impressive plots. Those rich plots and impressive images have always been the main source of inspiration for my art works.
During my studies at RCA, I was introduced to a completely new field, which is about the prediction of people in the future. And I am very interested in the uncertainty of this fast-changing era, as well as in technology and life during the evolution of species. Therefore, I have collected a lot of information about predicting future people. So I would like to create human beings in the future world from an artist’s point of view, blending culture, beliefs, technology and body to create new “super humans”. In short, “Transhuman” is artificial, not naturally inherited, but a series of transhuman possibilities created by scientists using multimedia technology.
So I set up a project called “Human Garden” with my friend, in which I acted as a scientist and conducted continuous research on “ transhuman”, and finally created a “transhuman” in line with my vision. The “Transhuman” project. These “ Transhumans ” possessed extraordinary intelligence, unparalleled strength, and perpetual life. These “ Transhuman Beings ” are the culmination of my efforts and are the inevitable trend of human evolution and scientific development in the future.
Through my art, I explore themes of personal identity, transhumanism, future technology and cultural beliefs. Although my work has received limited recognition throughout my life, those who enjoy weird, wacky art have always taken an interest in my artwork. This has encouraged me to continue to learn and continue to create more artwork in this theme.
