About

Sally Chan ( Chan Wing Tung ) is a product designer from Hong Kong. She seeks simple and functional design solutions to enrich our everyday life. Her practice falls into creating pleasurable and playful little moments in daily life through designs. She worked in design studios and consultancy in both Hong Kong and London which allowed her to be involved in various global projects include but are not limited to consumer electronics, kitchen appliances, homeware, furniture, lighting, mobility products, packaging design.

Her independent research project focus on studying affordance in product design. The project explore how to use design to empower young people with lack of DIY knowledge to perform basic home DIY tasks without training. The Wall Tool Kit design contains three tools to empower young DIY beginners to perform basic wall-related DIY task without training.

Wall Drill

A intuitive drill design mimic a press stamp motion to enable young DIY beginners drill holes and drive screws in a wall safely and easily.

Wall Hammer

A simple hammer design for young DIY beginners enabling them to hammer a nail into a wall safely even they are not skilful at DIY tasks.

Wall Measuring Tool

Simple compass-like tool combining a stud finder, spirit level and measuring tape to help young DIY beginners make accurate markings and perform tasks precisely.
