About
“My images often exist as long series that combine, revealing fragmented narratives, showing various aspects of human life such as love, joy, death, and desire etc that could happen commonly around us. And I craft stories using these emotions and occurrences of human life. These not only represent the moment in my life, but viewers can connect their own experiences with my works on a personal level.
Using references of experiences and imagination, I create my own world through my paintings. My practice begins with collecting a personal archive of drawings, writings, photographs and various events occurring around me. Especially to me, drawing is an important way to face the ideas and imaginations stored in the unconscious. I think these are shattered and far from reality and exist like the dreams of last night. In other words, the spaces that are shown in my drawings and paintings are not fixed, but keep changing, merging, and breaking up. By painting unfamiliar images using different perspectives and compositions rather than conventional images and spaces, my paintings induce curiosity and fun.”
