Jinke Wang
About
Jinke Wang is engaged in experimental performance art. She focuses on social issues and emotional exploration.
Take Off is a narrative video work that combines moving image, sound and performance. It’s a collaboration between Jinke and Xuanning. The work explores the dysfunctional parent-child relationship in East Asian families in relation to the sociological theory of dramaturgy , showing the reasons, processes and emotions of a child in an East Asian family who pretends and performs in front of the parents. Through the dramatic expression of segmentation, contradictions and conflicts, the work hopes to present this phenomenon in parent-child relationships to the audience for empathy and reflection, and to reflect on how our identities are shaped and presented in the vast arena of society and life.
