Yuanxiaomei Zhou
About
She is constantly searching for the connection between the cosmos and the feminine, exploring the way the supernatural seeps into everyday life, becoming a familiar presence. Her work primarily involves sculpture, video, and audiovisual art, inspired by her understanding and observation of female roles in contemporary Asian horror film production. Through narrative-driven video, resin sculptures, and immersive installations, she delves into the relationship between mysticism and femininity, class, and capitalism, while also examining the social phenomena underlying spiritualism. She continues to explore the links between feminism and mysticism.
The greatest joy lies in immersing herself in films and the self-constructed universe, in search of undiscovered elements.
