About
Being a practitioner of Sound Design and User Experience, Sauranav (saw-run-av) constantly focuses to explore the field further, usually through stories that I have a personal connection with. My practice revolves around building experiences based on narratives from daily lives that require and deserve preserving through making it accessible to everyone.
I am intrigued by human psychology and how a sense of identity plays a huge part in everyday conversation for people from this region as an often neglected or overlooked part of the country based on distance from the mainland, our physical appearance and languages, etc. ‘IST-1:00’ is a collection of stories from a part of the state in the country of India where I was born, the North-East. The contribution that Assam agriculture has to the country’s trade and export sector and the global popularity of its tea is invaluable. But, all’s not well in the actual tea estates of the state of Assam as it is even further neglected and not protected by the country’s political bodies. Through my practice, I wish to explore real stories of the world via immersive storytelling and eventually, provoke thought on understanding the relationship between history and the future through various lenses in the context of these stories.
