About

Xiaoyu is an animator from China. Most of her works were narrative and storytelling. Through animation she hopes to recreate memories and make connections. She loves to document and collect life and is infinitely sensitive to the world. More recently, she has become passionate about plants.

“With summer just around the corner. I set out on a journey with my favorite plant. When the summer rains come. I’ll bring it back home.”

A film for my plants.

Plants are an accumulation of my emotional weight.

The death of a plant and the wilting of a flower are small and fleeting, relative to the decades of my life. But these broken memories of death fall like rain and hail on my world from time to time, bringing a constant dampness and penetrating cold.
