About

My theme is inspired by Gilles Deleuze and Pierre-Felix Guattari’s theory of “body without organs”, which defines the aesthetic characteristics of the body as “a body that is generated, flowing, and never-ending”. In this book, there is a concept that “the mind is the potential form of the body, and the body is limited by tissues and organs.”
From this point of view, I began to think, if the body is not restricted by tissues and organs, what will the spirit be like?
In modern life, everyone has a lot of pressure. If it is not released, it is very likely to develop anxiety/depression and other mental illnesses after a long time. Therefore, my theme is mainly to create with relatively abstract blood and cells that leave the body tissues, and use cells and blood without restrictions to express the spirit of release.
After investigation, it was found that generalized anxiety disorder is most likely to occur after excessive mental stress, so I conducted research and creation through brain magnetic resonance images, blood vessel spreading images and abstract cell images.
Anxiety disorder is a very common disease that has a particularly great impact on people, so I hope that through this project, some people with a lot of mental stress can resonate and think about how to release their anxiety like these blood vessels and cells that have lost their organizational confinement and spread. This is a very worthwhile question to think about.
