About

Xin ZHONG, born in 1999, a contemporary jewellery artist from Macau, CN, currently based in London, UK. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China with a specialization in jewellery design and is currently pursuing an MA in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art in the UK (2023-2024).

Xin’s works originate from and exist within the contemporary landscape, relating to the people and things around her. They boldly reveal the gaps between cultural and personal narratives while connecting identity and materiality. Her jewellery pieces contemplate concepts and opportunities, reflecting on the symbolism and metaphors they create to forge relationships and scenarios, while simultaneously deconstructing and subverting them.

Xin believes that the composition and wearing style of accessories can sometimes imitate the luxurious and precious appearance of the jewellery, while at other times, they fall into the memory hole. The perspectives she offers are multifaceted, and they are illusions viewed as facts.
