About
In my work, I focus on creating textile art through weaving, reflecting traditional cultural values, language, and aesthetics. I incorporate ancient wisdom into modern design, aiming to preserve traditional craftsmanship while connecting with contemporary audiences. My design inspiration comes from a deep understanding of the natural world, particularly through symbols like the Tree of Life and the Milpa Cycle, which express the interconnectedness of life and sustainable practices. The Tree of Life symbolizes the axis of the universe, with its roots representing ancestral wisdom, the trunk representing reality, and the crown symbolizing hope and future growth. The Milpa Cycle demonstrates an understanding of agricultural sustainability, ensuring soil fertility and biodiversity through forest regeneration and crop rotation stages.
Through my woven screen designs, I convey these themes, inviting viewers to reflect on their relationship with nature and their role in its preservation. By combining traditional aesthetics with modern textile techniques, my work showcases the enduring relevance of these cultural symbols.
As global climate change issues become increasingly severe, exploring ecological wisdom in traditional cultures and applying it to modern environmental protection is crucial. My goal is to emphasize sustainability, cultural preservation, and community empowerment through art. In my textile works, I demonstrate how ancient wisdom can inspire modern practices to address contemporary challenges such as climate change. By depicting the Milpa Cycle in textile design, I advocate for agricultural practices that restore and maintain ecological balance. Using modern weaving techniques and patterns not only gives my work a unique aesthetic appeal but also draws attention to the value of traditional cultural heritage. Through my designs, I raise awareness of these responsibilities, showing how innovative textile craftsmanship can achieve sustainable and harmonious living. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and promote practices that support ecological and social well-being. By creating art rooted in cultural tradition yet appealing to modern audiences, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
