About

I am interested in how our day to day lives and relationships are filtered through technology; what is real and what is unreal, and whether that distinction matters. My practice plays with the crossover between painting and digital media, often combining digitally printed imagery with traditional mediums such as oil and charcoal. I borrow from films (especially those that deal with synchronicity e.g. Terminator and Robocop), the natural world (snakes, insects, horses etc) and also the male nude whether it be a life model or a photo sourced from online interactions. I am exploring ideas of sex, power, violence and the places where pleasure and disgust meet.

My more recent work has seen a shift toward working with unorthodox supports such as found domestic fabrics, bed linen etc.
