Jiaqi is a Chinese knitwear designer currently based in London. She holds degrees from both China and the UK, including a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. She then pursued postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art, further deepening her expertise in fashion design.

Jiaqi has demonstrated exceptional talent in fashion design, particularly in her use of colour. Her sensitivity to colour is remarkable, giving her designs a distinctive visual impact and artistic quality. During her time at Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Jiaqi engaged with Arduino programming and functional garment design, experiences that infused her design approach with technological and innovative elements. She has combined these technologies with cutting-edge textile design concepts learned at Central Saint Martins, resulting in a unique design style and robust professional capability.

Jiaqi excels in a range of techniques, including knitting, printing, and weaving. She adeptly integrates fashion trends, garment design, and fabric characteristics to create pieces that are both aesthetically valuable and practical. Proficient in various knitting techniques, she can design and produce intricate and refined knit patterns. Her keen eye for yarn selection and processing ensures that each piece displays a unique texture and style.

Jiaqi is also deeply committed to sustainability and feminism. She actively explores cutting-edge design concepts such as bio-materials and zero waste, aiming to advance environmentally friendly and sustainable fashion. Her design projects incorporate a profound understanding of feminism, expressing female strength and independence through her work, and embedding social responsibility into her fashion creations.
