About
I am an observer, a listener, and a recorder. My work is mainly based on metal and a series of moving images around objects. I love the beauty of moving images and their characteristics of being more attractive to the audience and easier to read. To discuss more possibilities of jewellery and identity of audience, I use different dynamic mediums to do transformation and reorganization among objects.
My work revolves around the audience and interactivity. I explored the relationship among cognition, information and senses, as well as how they affect female and us. I was used to think from my female perspective which once drawn me into the cliche of feminism. In ‘More Than An Object’, I made four gold- plated silver stamps to discuss informing and being informed. Stamps and information for me represent the power to inform and subjectivity. Through designing the stamp text changes between mirrored and readable, I change the identity of audience between viewer and participant. ‘How To Be A Good _?’ was a moving image about ice, sound, and senses. Through the melting of ice music score during violin playing, I expressed how we position our subjectivity. What are we? How we position ourselves between matter and subject.
After completing my master’s degree in Royal College of Art in London. I established and registered fashion accessories company called JUN&KEY LTD with my colleague. My future work will gradually shift from conceptual towards commercial. Interacting with audiences in the conceptual field provides me experiences in considering consumers in my future work.
