About

Yike Duan (b. 1998) is a Chinese artist, high jewellery designer, and jeweller. • Her work focuses on the self-reflective relationship between humans and materials. By integrating metal into wearable art, Yike explores how jewellery can reflect the biological and philosophical aspects of life. • During her studies at the Royal College of Art, Yike specialized in the relationship between sustainable materials, jewellery, and the body. She often contemplates the dual nature of jewelry: at times, jewelry functions more as a tool that severs connections between people rather than as a connector. By selecting sustainable materials from nature, she aims to create jewelry that fosters dialogue about our relationship with the material world. Through the development and crafting of these elements into “gems,” Yike seeks to mirror and explore the interactions between humans and the objects we value, ultimately questioning and redefining the true essence of adornment
