SHITING SUN (Kristy)
About
My name is Shiting Sun (Kristy) and I am an interior designer with a passion for creating harmonious, functional spaces that enhance the human experience. I am particularly focused on blending aesthetic design with sustainable practices, always striving to integrate eco-friendly solutions into my projects.
I started my academic journey at the University of Edinburgh where I honed my spatial design skills and developed a keen eye for detail. I then pursued a Masters degree at the Royal College of Art and expanded my research focus to include innovative design solutions to contemporary social and environmental challenges.
During my time at the Royal College of Art, I developed the “AquaTower” project, which redefines urban sustainability through innovative vertical farming—Aquaponics. This project integrates water, fish, and plants to create a self-sustaining ecosystem and aims to address food insecurity caused by poverty in Tower Hamlets. AquaTower is envisioned to become a new landmark promoting eco-friendly living and community engagement, embodying the harmony of nature and technology, and offering new ideas and visions for a sustainable urban future.
