Wenqing Zhang

Interior Design (MA)

About

Wenqing is an interior designer from China. She is fascinated by the narrative of space and is committed to exploring the boundaries of interior design.

Wenqing’s work ‘Waste to Feast’ during her time at the RCA focused on sustainable research into a range of food materials. In her project, the table is used as the main concept to create a food community for immigrants. London is the city with the highest percentage of immigrants in the whole of the UK, how do they find a sense of belonging in their new land? Another strategy is to create a tower in the centre of the site that brings people able to come together, inspired by the Tower of Babel.
