Interior Design (MA)

About

Xuhao Miao is a space designer from Hangzhou, China, who graduated from Zhejiang Gongshang University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management.

He brings a more nuanced and unique observational perspective to his designs, adheres to human-centred design philosophy, and has studied in-depth at the Royal College of Art for his superb professional knowledge and multidisciplinary approach, with the ambition to create easy-to-use designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The history of the building for this project has taught me that there have been many protests on the site and that the building is primarily used for residential purposes, so I combined the very different concepts of protest and family in an effort to create a new platform for the protesters to help them do better. At the same time, I went out amongst the protesters and created my own toolkit to understand what they really needed and then incorporated those elements into the panels and interior design.
