About
Chang Zhang is an artist from China whose works include oil paintings, textile paintings, sculptures and videos. Currently graduating from Royal College of Art in MFA Arts and Humanities program.
Chang’s artistic practice is based on the themes of divinity and artistic healing, using the social realities encountered in daily life as prototypes, exploring the meaning behind the work and creating works with critical significance. During her studies at MFA Arts & Humanities, she focused on the unique connections that arise from the combination of independent works and gave them new meanings, creating her ideal world in her work through humorous and metaphorical fairy tales, as well as the creation of sacred surreal and mysterious images. With love at the heart of her work, remain critical and humorous, creating works with artistic aesthetics, storylines, and humanistic care.
Chang aims to evoke the spiritual and emotional resonance of the audience through the creation of artworks, in the form of visual, tactile and interactive, or a combination of performance art and spatial installations, in a safe, comfortable and quiet space, to give participants a relaxing experience, so that the audience can obtain emotional resonance and release. That is, to create art with a healing soul by displaying works in public places.
