About

Dahee Zoe (Dahée Zoé-de Hanyan)

Photographer, Arts and Humanities Researcher, Fashion and Art Entrepreneur

Biography:

Dahee Zoe’s journey as a photographer began at the age of 16. During her adolescence, she moved to Paris to further pursue her passion, studying photography at EFET Paris (École Supérieure de Photographie et d’Audiovisuel Privée). Over the years, she has collaborated with haute couture maisons and the broader fashion industry across Paris, New York, Seoul, and other fashion capitals. Her work has been featured in esteemed publications such as Vogue and Elle, and she has appeared in numerous international and national fashion magazines, newspapers, and television programs as both a photographer and entrepreneur.

After successfully establishing and running her art and fashion business with a global presence in Seoul, New York, and Paris, Dahee sought to deepen her understanding of the philosophical foundations of art. She returned to Seoul to study Buddhology at Dongguk University under the academic guidance of Hyejun Sunim (Ven. Hyejun). This scholarly pursuit has significantly influenced her creative approach, particularly in the intersection of art and mental well-being.

As a fashion expert, Dahee holds two design patents and one trademark that she created, further solidifying her innovative contributions to the fashion industry.

Current Work and Research:

Dahee is currently focused on humanitarian projects and self-led research under the theme of “Mental Health Development Through Art and Buddhist Philosophy.” During her time at the Royal College of Art, she developed programs in collaboration with the National Trust and Dover Museum, aimed at helping the public reduce stress in their daily lives through simple and sustainable methods.

Her first curated and organised exhibition in London, titled Vedanā: Sensation, 受, was conceived to facilitate meditation and mental well-being through nature-inspired art. Additionally, she established the RCA Buddhist Society, which won the Liberation Fund, supporting activities that Dahee designed, such as singing bowl meditation, Zen Korean tea ceremonies, and volunteer-led Korean Buddhist temple food cooking events for the Royal College of Art students.

Dahee Zoe is passionate about using her artistic talents to contribute to a better world, particularly by improving mental health and well-being through her interdisciplinary work.
