Elisheva Goldberg

Ceramics & Glass (MA)

About

Elisheva Goldberg (b. 1998, Washington, D.C.) is a ceramic artist based in London. Her work ranges from functional tableware to large sculptural vases.

Elisheva’s current work combines her functional ceramic practice with floriography, the language of flowers. Using her background as a trained functional potter, she designs tableware and sculptural vases inspired by the flowers they are intended to feature. Painting her work with an intentionally unfocused eye, she builds up layers of ceramic paste to create floral portraits, thus linking through texture, shape, and color the vase and the living flowers themselves. You will be able to make out the contours and colors of entire gardens, afloat on each piece’s surface.
