Xinqi Li
About
Xinqi LI, Joyce is a curator based in London, Beijing and Wuhan. Prior to studying at the Royal College of Art, Xinqi LI received a BA in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London. She has collaborated with exhibitions with organisations in the UK, France, Korea and China, including Saatchi Gallery, Louvre and Dunhuang Academy.
Having an opportunity to involve art in social life to present a new perspective and experience to the public has always been her curatorial interest. Under the belief of playing the role of education curator, she is passionate about exploring the relationship between museums, artists, and public audiences. Drawing inspiration from theorists and practitioners in the field of aesthetic education, such as Elliot Eisner and Maxine Greene, she focuses on creating meaningful encounters with art that challenge perceptions, provoke curiosity, and encourage open-mindedness.
As a curator with an artist background, she believes in the transformative power of aesthetic education in shaping individuals and society. Aesthetic education goes beyond mere appreciation of art; it is a holistic and enriching experience that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. Through engagement with art, individuals can develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them, fostering empathy, cultural awareness, and a sense of interconnectedness.
By curating exhibitions and programs that prioritize aesthetic education, she aims to create immersive and inclusive spaces that inspire dialogue, reflection, and personal growth through art.
