About

The aim of the project ‘Serenity in Flux’ is to invite people to participate in promoting attention to the present moment and energy cultivation for harmony with nature. Often anxious due to the uncontrollable nature of time and the fast-paced social environment, Jiaqi hopes to learn from Taoism how to gain inner peace and how to balance herself. The landscape paintings in Taoist culture resonated deeply with her and inspired her creations. As a practitioner of contemporary art, Jiaqi Huang hopes to emphasize reflection, self-expression and the wider social role of craft through slow craftsmanship.

In her design, she sees flowers as both a part of nature and a metaphor for life, and has chosen the three forms of petals, blooms and buds as metaphors for human death, adulthood and birth. These three elements are combined with the elements of landscape painting to encourage people to embrace every moment of their lives. She uses both abstraction and freehand to form a landscape painting with the Bloom series and the Bud series, providing the viewer with a peaceful space for contemplation; the transformation of the mountain and flower shapes into each other symbolizes a continuous, fluid process of transformation and balance.
