Sau Lun Yeung

Lun applies traditional silversmithing and jewellery-making techniques to found objects and bio-materials, creating contemporary jewellery and objects.

His current research, “Cabinet of Symbiosities,” is an experimental project that brings science, biology, and chemistry experiments into the realm of jewellery art. As a migrant from Hong Kong, Lun discovered that many collectible objects in London originated from the Far East during the Victorian or colonial periods, sparking the inspiration for his research.

This project explores themes of colonialism, parasitism, global migrant mobility, and political and human history through the collection and transformation of found objects using crystallization, mycelium, and slime mold growth.

Lun is currently pursuing an MA in Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art. He graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University and completed an exchange program at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. His background in sculpture, ceramics, and glass informs his unique approach to contemporary jewellery.

Founded in 2011, his artisan jewellery brand, The Polska Traveller, originated in Hong Kong. His work has been exhibited internationally in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
