Zhen Wang
About
Zhen Wang is dedicated to finding poetic expression in his artwork through the use of lines, spray paint, smearing, and scraping techniques, exploring themes such as personal memory, time, and the symbolic meanings of shapes and colors. His creative process rejects established painting habits and logical definitions, using unpredictability as a means of self-exploration.
In his artistic creations, Zhen strives to build a bridge between personal experiences and universal themes, captivating viewers with visually and conceptually rich works. Each piece delves into the essence of time, personal memory, and existence. His inspirations come from a range of sources, including nature, everyday scenes, personal memories, and inner feelings. He excels at capturing the details of physical objects; for instance, by observing marks on walls or items in daily life—whether inconspicuous scratches or water stains—he perceives them as symbols of the passage of time and the presence of memory. These marks represent specific moments, harboring hidden forces and emotions, transforming into windows for exploring the essence of existence. These traces become symbols in his works, forming secretive and intricate visual narratives.
