About

Andreas Webb is a London-based artist specialising in pinhole photography, using both traditional photo paper and innovative digital techniques. born in Wales but with Cypriot heritage Andreas tries to blend the old and the new within his art work.

The interest Andreas has with light and colour, and how they interact in particular settings at particular times, lies at the core of his work. With carefully crafted cameras by hand, each item functions as a documentary of these fleeting traits. Made from carefully chosen materials that represent his artistic vision, each camera is a labour of love. He uses a range of methods, frequently recycling commonplace items and using unique mechanisms to adjust exposure and depth of field. This hands-on technique not only makes each camera uniquely functional and aesthetically pleasing, but it also gives it a personal touch that extends his creative expression.

An additional indication of Andreas’ dedication to his work is the fact that he uses his portable darkroom to create pinhole photographs in real time, enabling an instantaneous and immersive interaction between the artist and the surroundings. Through his photographs, he celebrates the intricacy and beauty of light in all its forms while allowing people to see the world through a fresh perspective.
