Jian Yea
About
Jian is a Korean artist who enjoys exploring both the beauty and the repulsive nature of humans, investigating the absurd and depressing imperfect moments of humans through the medium of photography, moving image and installation.
Her latest work, “Five Letters” invites the audience into the world of tiny insects to explore the foolish behavior of humans. In this moving image work, insects are reading insignificant, ugly, and useless letters which were found online – completely forgotten by the people who uploaded them. Insects are confessing, complaining, and regretting without knowing their lives could end anytime.
