About

This year I have leaned into my unconscious desire to work and rely on Ellie as my long term muse, collaborator, subject and friend.

As such, this body of work has partly become an investigation of that relationship, often testing it to its limits. I have learned from other artistic duo’s is that there is often a desire to merge/unite with one another, which relates to my research around doppelgängers, mirror’s and Narcissus.

The red fabric has become another constant subject in the work. It is naturally now a tool, along with the camera, that I reach for before I undertake a project.

All of the references for the poses in this work come from my personal archive of classical sculptures that I have been documenting from the V&A, British Museum, and beyond. Through re-enacting these as performances we disrupt, challenge and debate.
