Weiyue Sun
About
Weiyue Sun is a photographer based in London and China. With a background in sociology, she is currently completing her MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art in London. Raised in the historically rich city of Xi’an and having spent significant time in Western countries, Sun is deeply intrigued by the interplay between the colonial histories of the East and West. She is particularly interested in how photography as a medium has constructed visual perceptions across different cultures.
Sun’s practice explores the relationship between dominant histories and personal narratives, aiming to create multifaceted interpretations of the past and present through her photographic work. She engages with obscured histories using multiple mediums, incorporating museums, archives, and collections to retell and reinvent colonial narratives.
