About

He Wang, base in Hangzhou.Painter , printmaker.

My works usually start with my experience, my friends, some events or issues around me, record them with film photography as a source of inspiration, deform and reconstruct them, use printmaking, painting or small sculpture to express my inner feelings, express my emotions through sharp lines and rich layers of colors, seek for the impact of absurd images, and integrate surrealism into my own creative concepts. I used to combine different materials organically and giving new texture to them. I hope to add a sense of interactivity to my works while exploring contemporary practices, to interact with the viewers, to inspire them to criticize themselves and to look back at the traces of their past lives.

I try to distort and deconstruct the my painting and print, and seek new combinations and different perspectives in different geometrical cuts, exploring the extension of Cubism to my own works, and making in-depth detours and reflections on figurative representation.
