About

A rabbit, a horse, a jet fighter and a man on a bicycle

I like etching, cycling, rock climbing and walking. Cycling is an act of rebellion in the world of the car. I think printmaking is similarly rebellious.

I was born in Hertfordshire and grew up in Cumbria and have spent a lot of the last decade living in Jersey, Channel Islands. I make work using etching, screenprint, letterpress and bookmaking. In 2018 I co-founded a printmaking space in Jersey called Luddite Press. It was established as a shared resource with open access to members allowing printmakers and artists to make their own work as well as being an educational facility to promote traditional printmaking techniques and to encourage the pursuit of printmaking and ensure its relevance in a contemporary practice. Luddite Press is an ongoing collaborative community art project. Devising and leading participatory workshops has become part of my practice and something I’ve tried to involve in recent artworks.
