About

My name is Xixi, and I am a  printmaking artist from China, currently living in London . I have two cats, a dog, and a barbecue restaurant. My work primarily explores the relationship between Buddhism and humanity, drawing inspiration from my personal experiences.

I enjoy combining mixed media with printmaking techniques. The charm of printmaking lies in its ability to accurately reproduce each piece, much like the cycle of life. By exploring the meaning of Buddhism and life, I use different materials to convey their unique expressiveness and texture. I choose materials based on the theme and needs of the work, considering the opposing concepts of life and death. I aim to convey the power of vitality by combining these materials with printmaking and hand-drawing, creating a strong visual impact.

During my studies at RCA, I received the Travers Smith Award and was selected for the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. I believe art is a silent language that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers. Art is not only a form of expression but also a reflection of inner emotions and thoughts. Through the form and dissemination of art, I hope to help more people understand and appreciate the unique charm of Chinese Buddhist culture. This is both my personal motivation and goal for creation, as well as my confidence and expectation for the future development of art.
