About

Yaohui Wang is a multidisciplinary artist from Hangzhou, China, whose work explores the intricate interplay between memory, identity, and societal influences. Educated at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts with a major in printmaking, Wang combines traditional printmaking techniques with transformative, interactive installations to create deeply resonant pieces.

Her project “Fading Foliage” poignantly reflects on the fragility of memory, evoking the ephemeral nature of memories and engaging viewers in a dialogue about loss and vulnerability. In contrast, “Relative Reality” explores the echo chamber effect in online social spaces, highlighting how repeated viewpoints can solidify beliefs and foster resistance to opposing ideas. Through dynamic visuals, this series examines the complexities of information dissemination in the digital age and its profound impact on both individual and collective perceptions. By addressing the pervasive influence of social media and online interactions, Wang’s work encourages a critical reflection on the formation and reinforcement of beliefs in contemporary society.

Her art integrates medical research and social psychology, bridging personal experiences with broader societal issues. Her pieces invite viewers to reflect on their experiences with memory and information, fostering a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological landscapes shaped by the information age.
