Junyi Xie (Guangzhou, 1999) is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer. She received a BA of Environmental Design in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and studied Interior Design in Glasgow School of Art where she received her first master’s degree, and now she is completing MA Sculpture in Royal College of Art.

Her works contain sculpture, painting, illustration, environmental and interior design, practicing primarily in acrylic, quartz sand, clay, plaster, resin, plastic, wax, and other digital software. She draws inspiration from observations of daily life, focus on exploring human interactions with everyday objects, rethink a way to present some surprising or neglected phenomena surround everyday life, transform in art practice. Via explore surroundings that happen in a moment and change familiar things into extraordinary presences to express personal impressions and define everyday aesthetics in mundane.

In her work ‘Liquid Memories’, she created series pieces crafted from plastic and resin, brought to life with a vivid spectrum of bright colors. Each piece flows with almost liquid grace, capturing the essence of fluidity and movement. Its form resembles swirling drinks, evoking the vibrant hues of beverages that mark moments of celebration, indulgence, and shared joy in our everyday life activities. The resin’s glossy and abstract forms finish enhance the illusion of fluid motion, freezing in time the fleeting moments that define our lives, invites viewers into a world of sensory pleasure, where each flow shape represent the ephemeral nature of joyous experiences.
