About
I consider each of us a living embodiment of places and events stratified over time.
These layers, composing our personality, need to be decoded and uncovered to find our position in the world.
In my artistic practice, encompassing sculpture, performance, and installations, I explore the connections between science, psychology, and spirituality interrogating dominant culture and the psychological traumas it inflicts, particularly within the context of patriarchal systems.
Using natural materials like marble and focusing on the human figure, I initiate a geometric and architectural metamorphosis, creating hidden spaces, cocoons of concealment, and self-protection.
Often inspired by poems, dance performances, and sounds, my sculptural and installation works emphasize the fragmentation of personal and collective identity, which can lead to progressive deconstruction and isolation. In a symbiotic and symbolic dance between stativity and movement, they delve into the power of words and their impact on mental health and psychological growth.
My performances want to amplify the social rituality of oblivion, both conscious and unconscious, creating a dialogue between burial and discovery, abandonment and curiosity. This process engenders then a kind of archaeology of the soul, quoting T. de Chardin: “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
By weaving these themes together, my work seeks to uncover the deep-seated layers of identity and challenge the structures that shape our psychological landscapes.
