Animation (MA)

About

Ching Huei Weng is a visual director, animator, and VJ from Taiwan, now based in London. Specialising in live concert production, award ceremonies, and projection mapping, her work fuses moving images with musicality and spatial dimensions.

She works with artists and bands to design visual content for concerts and award ceremonies, creating bespoke designs and managing VJ operations. Notable projects include work for JJ Lin (林俊傑), Jolin Tsai (蔡依林), A-Mei (張惠妹), and Chris Lee (李宇春), covering genres from rock and pop to folk.

In 2022, as the Leading Visual Director and animation producer for JJ Lin’sRoad to JJ20 World Tour,” she shared behind-the-scenes stories in an interview with TPI and developed the immersive projection mapping for Sorry Youth’s “Come As You Are Concert.”

During her recent MA studies at RCA, she delved into themes of light, shadow, and the dynamic between individual and collective identities. Her short film,  (un)Floating World, reflects this exploration, symbolising the journey of discovering personal fulfilment and defining one’s meaning in society.

Ching Huei’s passion for refined visual aesthetics stems from her belief that we perceive the world through space, sound, and sight. She is currently exploring real-time generated art forms combined with audio components to enhance emotional engagement and storytelling.
