Animation (MA)

About

Xiaolin Ke, an emerging artist, designer, and animator hailing from Guangdong, China, has made London, UK her new creative home. Xiaolin’s work is profoundly influenced by her personal experiences, focusing on the theme of healing through art. She creates emotionally resonant stories that speak to the heart through the power of visual expression and narrative.

Her formal art education began at Wuyi University, where she graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, earning the highest honors in her major. It was during her undergraduate studies that she not only established a robust foundation in 3D design but also discovered her passion for 3D digital animation. Seeking to expand her artistic horizons, Xiaolin ventured to the United Kingdom to further her studies at the Royal College of Art (RCA). She is currently enrolled in the Animation Program at the School of Communication, where she continues to hone her craft.

Specializing in 3D design, Xiaolin skillfully combines her background in product design and visual arts to craft profound and impactful healing stories. Her graduation project, inspired by the Chinese idiom “破茧成蝶” (breaking out of the cocoon and becoming a butterfly), challenges the notion that having wings guarantees success. Instead, she celebrates the value of perseverance and the courage to face challenges.

Now residing in London, Xiaolin is fully dedicated to her artistic endeavors and academic pursuits. She is committed to delving deeper into the therapeutic potential of storytelling and aims to utilize her expertise in 3D design to create art that resonates on a profound level and promotes emotional healing.
