Yaqing Zhang
About
Yaqing Zhang was born in China in 2001.
He received a BA in Fine Art from Lancaster University in 2023 and is now studying Animation in Royal College of Art. His practice involves drawing, painting, sculptural installations and moving images. He is interested in metamorphosis, flat ontology and Merleau-Ponty’s theories on flesh, informing him to create uncertain, hand-drawn animated worlds where everything is constantly trembling and breathing, fading in and out.
“I like to find fragile connections between phenomenons and then slip into animation to perform and reveal.”
