● YO Shuan (Yu-Hsuan Chen) is a Taiwanese artist who specializes in crafting illustrations and 2D animations with a unique visual style. This style is a captivating blend, drawing inspiration from the dynamic worlds of sports, cartoons, and Hip-Hop culture.
● As a freelance illustrator with years of experience, YO Shuan focuses on rap album cover design. She has collaborated with influential clients such as Warner Music Taiwan and various popular rappers.
● During her two years as a graphic designer and illustrator at the sports design company Plugin B&V, she has honed her skills in various areas. These include motion graphics, merchandise design, sports mascot design, and key visual design for sports events. Her work with prestigious clients such as NIKE, VICTOR Badminton, P.LEAGUE+, and CPBL clearly demonstrates her versatility and adaptability. ● While studying at the Royal College of Art, she created a 6-minute graduate short film named “Golden Diamond Heart,” reflecting the self-doubt and anxiety many people experience daily but delivers with a sense of humor and a fresh perspective: “Lucy finds herself constantly haunted by her expressive critical demon, which never seems satisfied with what she does. Awakened by her hip-hop soul, Lucy bravely confronts her whiny demon—through a rap battle!” The film received funding from the Strange Beasts & Passion Prize Award 2024, one of the three winners in the programwide competition.
