Digital Direction (MA)

About

Armelle Mihailescu is a Multi Media Artist, who’s using video games and interactive/immersive experiences to explore deep themes close to her heart, such as ecology, human relationship with nature and spirituality. After a Bachelor in Graphic Design in France, she worked two years in the video game industry, creating the company Sleepless Paradise with a few collaborators and starting their first project. She then explored storytelling under a different lens and started the Digital Direction course in London at the RCA.

She is part of DeepDive XR, a venture pioneering the creation and distribution of educational extended reality (XR) experiences focused on addressing the urgent climate crisis. DeepDive XR creates experiences made for efficient climate education, having a big impact on young minds and engaging them to be actors for a positive future. DeepDive XR distributes them as workshops in schools to educate the younger generation. DeepDive XR also create bespoke experiences for existing climate actors to spread their message more effectively and intensely to their audiences, ultimately transforming inactive masses into climate allies. Because the DeepDive XR team believes that facts alone don’t inspire change; being an actor in a situation does.

She is also a co-founder of Sleepless Paradise, an indie game studio, developping and commercialising their first game, Eternals’ Path. Eternals’ Path is a rogue-like, turn-based tactical RPG. It’s about choices, the ones you made, the ones you regret, and those that will haunt you to your grave, and beyond. Embody a fallen anti-hero, but no merciful rest awaits your character on the other side. Instead, your past comes after you. Explore a spiritual maze and be faced with those you knew, and who may hold you accountable for their fate.
