About

Samah Asif is a visionary creative designer based in London, she graduated with First Class Honours in BA Hons Graphic Design from the University of the Arts London. With a diverse skill set spanning marketing, graphic design, video production and 3D modelling, she brings a multifaceted approach to her projects. Her passion lies at the intersection of disability, design and cutting-edge technology, fueled by a fascination with science fiction and artificial intelligence (AI). Samah’s work is driven by a commitment to inclusivity, pushing boundaries and creating impactful experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.

She received the Burberry Design Scholarship to study MA Digital Direction at the Royal College of Art, where she focuses on creating interactive, sensory- rich environments to explore social issues and enhance empathy. She leverages digital art, immersive installations and multimedia storytelling to challenge perceptions, promote accessibility and inclusivity.

Samah’s recent work, Beyond Silence, is an innovative interactive game designed to simulate the experiences of individuals who are deaf. The game challenges players to locate a ringing phone without using auditory cues, highlighting the significance of other senses such as sight and spatial awareness. Players must rely on visual and tactile clues to enhance their sensory perception and foster empathy. A key feature of Beyond Silence is a vibration strap that players wear while playing. This strap provides haptic feedback, guiding players through the environment to discover vibrating objects and uncover clues. By exploring the game’s environment and piecing together the narrative, players gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the deaf community. Through its engaging, sensory-rich gameplay, Beyond Silence offers a profound, empathetic experience.
