Shuyi Guo is a visual communicator who delves into the intricate relationship between social group behaviour, psychology, and the phenomena of alienation and their underlying drivers. Her work spans narrative, installation, digital art, and performance, aiming to convey profound messages to audiences through innovative and theatrical expressions. 

In her recent project with Jieyu, “The Isle of Fantastical Wealth”(2024), she explores money as an absolute belief system within capitalism. Using modern digital technology and semiotics, this digital film critiques capitalist culture and the desire for wealth, encouraging viewers to take a deeper look at our current values and social structures, prompting reflection on the role of money in shaping our identities and social norms.

Shuyi’s art seeks to provoke thought and dialogue, inviting audiences to reconsider important aspects of human behavior and social relationships. By creating immersive and multifaceted experiences, she aspires to shed light on the ethical and social implications of contemporary issues, inspiring deeper understanding and engagement.
