Information Experience Design (MA)

About

I am Kalina, a London based multidisciplinary designer from Bulgaria with a background in User experience design. I wanted to use the knowledge I had of recording human behavior and experience to tell bigger stories regarding the human condition. Combining human centric design with art, theory and technology to create immersive experiences. Working with artificial intelligence, creative computing and robotics while combining it with classical artistic elements like sculpture to transform user research into an experience.

Through my year in RCA I looked into the cyclical relationship between our bodies and their images as a way to understand the current reality that aims to not simply alter human nature, but de-nature it, practically turning it into an artifact. Like a snake eating its tail, the human body constantly undergoes metamorphosis, always searching to be in harmony with its virtual double. Approaching this topic from a research perspective and using data collected from

With the projects I completed this year I explored how people experience the effects of the digital world in regards to how we perceive ourselves, what is our relationship with a physical human simulacrum and lastly how individual acts of digital self augmentation are contributing to a larger collective experience and altering the relationship with our physical appearance.
