I’m Shang Ding, a sound designer. My creative practice involves cultural speculation, human-computer interaction, mixed reality and psychological healing.
I hope that my work can provide viewers with a way of digital therapy through the process of dialogue and exchange between humans and ChatGPT on the topic of psychological trauma, combining AI technology with narrative psychology principles to encourage viewers to re-create their stories. AI acts as an impartial “listener” and “analyst”, facilitating a dialogue with the individual’s past, so that traumatic experiences can be re-examined from a new perspective. It is hoped that this interaction can provide viewers with a form of catharsis and understanding that was previously unattainable, allowing individuals to find closure, redefine their identities, and discover strength and hope in their own narratives.
